Hemp
Hemp is one of the oldest arable crops. Hemp insulations are the natural alternative of thermal and sound-proof insulation. They are made of hemp (Cannabis sativa) not comprising the habit-forming substances.
Hemp grows very fast and it shall thus put soil to the shade, whereby preventing weed infestation. Therefore no chemistry is needed for its protection while breeding it.
It is harmless to human health both when being produced and being handled in the construction. The thermal insulation products made of the plant are connected with term "healthy dwelling".
Hemp fibre is capable of humidity absorption and its re-release. Thanks to a high permeability and humidity conductivity, the hemp insulation can preserve the healthy micro-climate of a house free from the propagating bacteria, moulds and other micro-organisms causing allergies and other health problems.
It is a suitable material for diffusion open structures. Hemp insulation keeps its shape, does not deform and keeps its insulation properties under moist conditions.
It can be used in attics, ceilings, floors, internal and external walls. It is made in the form of mats or rolls.
Hemp insulation advantages
- very good thermal insulation and sound-proof properties
- resistance against short-term damping and ageing
- good diffusion properties providing for the automatic humidity balance
- compact and flexible mats, good processability, no irritation to skin
- environmentally appropriate production, 100% usage of renewable raw material
- compostability or re-usability
